Any knowledgeable input welcomed.Well the the stupid design left inner c.v. boot on a 1997 Volvo S40 with renault gearbox finally totally split with oil everywhere, patched and nursed it until today.Pulled the left axle and fitted the new boot and radial oil seal I had previously got from Euro making sure I told them all the details of the Volvo it was for with the renault gearbox( code M5P).All looked good, pressed it on.Then installed everything back together( looking good I thought). Then pumped in fresh oil ( redline the good and expensive stuff!).Only to find it hadn't sealed properly at all on side of gearbox, with fresh oil pissing out.Pulled the plate off to find it was all over the shop rather that sitting in the groove. The lip that does the sealing on side of gearbox seems to be a slightly smaller diameter than the original and just doesn't seem to sit right to seal.I reckon I've got a boot for some other stupid renault gearbox, who knows. The radial bearing appears the same as the old one and fitted fine.
