What tie rod did you buy?
I looked at the parts manual for any V70, it lists:
271598 - tie rod end, left271599 - tie rod end, right
I also checked AWD V70s, they use the same parts number.
I also checked 850s, again, they all use this one style tie rod end.
The problem could also be that the tie rods and rod ends you have on the car now are different from the standard parts.
