Rear diff identification

NEw to volvos. Wanted to know if I have a limited slip diff or open diff

Neither, that is an automatic locking diff

1041 and G80 is the identification for it

No.. California USA. It's on NA 940GL I just got.

That’s what I thought, I knew Australia never had that axle as an option

It's a nice diff, I have a 3.73 with a G80. I go skiing every year (yes it snows in Australia) and the low speed lockup in the diff has made the car much nicer to drive when there's snow on the roads (or more likely in the resort car parks as they don't get snowploughed as much).

If you just got it, flush the diff fluid with some fresh 80W90 GL-5 synthetic gear oil.
