Seat belt locked up

hi folks

As if I don't have enough dramas with noisy cat converter my drivers seat (of course) has now locked up in the closed position, is there any way of unlocking it, if not, would anybody have a (greyish) coloured one up for grabs ?

I wasnt able tto fix a couple i had go bad , be sure to disconnect battery when removing the pre tensioner module wiring plug to swap and beware the plastics are brittle.

Pulling it gingerly from outside the car or taking it out and unfurling it and then clipping it with heavy big bulldog clip (or even stapling/rivetting!) at desired length got me through till i got a used one once.

I bought or had other P80s to use parts from , its almost essential the way stuff fails on them......

thanks again, looks like it's a removal and unfurl, it's just not budging, love the T5 but these nigling problems are a pain in the butt

Not sure how effective I was unfurling it but at least you can bash it to get the lock off for a bit by bit slow extraction, it does fully lock if not held more upright as its in case of roll over.

If you have room buy a cheap *70 and pull out a whole lot of trim and parts that break like door closure mech, lamps, latches, hoses, sensors etc. Invaluable to have boxes of that in store.

really don't have room for that, even if I did I'd soon be single again ? some women just don't understand the economics in that excersize

Get rid of woman, buy several more Volvo's?

My drivers belt failed in the same way last year, I did pull the trim off and mess with the lock bit to get it usable for a week or so until I replaced it.
