  • Wanted - Manual AWD transmission (M58, M66) for 1998 V70 Manual Conversion Project

Hey guys!

As the ad mentioned, I am chasing a manual AWD transmission to use in my 1998 AWD V70. It still has the auto aw52 transmission in it and I'm super keen on doing a manual swap.

Figured I'd try keep my AWD system if I can, as I have serviced it and kept it operational.

Keen to hear what the OzVolvo community might have around. Any state in Aus is fine. Happy to pay for freight.

Thanks guys!

Max - i think you need a viscous coupling. I bought one as a spare for my AWD 850 Estate as they are very hard to source. There will be experts on the forum to inform your project. I don't have my AWD any more but kept the spare viscous coupling. I am clearing out my garage and moving. $500 if you are interested.

Best of luck with your project

Adrian

Depending on your budget I have a complete manual 1998 V70XC that I have been fixing up to sell. Has alloy intercooler/radiator/ipd "rip" kit/16t turbo/white injectors/17psi ARDtune/silicon hose kit/fresh headgasket and valve stem seals (removed head to replace valve stem seals wasn't overheated or anything) new pads and discs all around/coolant bottle/PCV replaced. Running in fwd at the moment

Full stage 0 with timing belt kit, water pump replaced

Just have to weld up a stainless downpipe for it should be ready in a couple of months.

I have a viscous coupling on my current V70 AWD. The viscous coupling is the part that sits right infront of the rear diff if I'm not mistaken. Mine seems to still be working which is good. Thanks anyway Tiny.

That sounds like a very nice build Tim! Kinda similar to mine. So yours is a manual AWD then I guess?
