I've recently picked up a C30 2.4i 2010 which has had a head unit upgrade, separate CD player in glovebox, but now has lost interaction with the console Menu panel, which is stopping me from upgrading some preferences like the deadlock function. Wondering if others have tried head unit upgrades that preserve the integration with inbuilt console menu for setting car preferences. What head units have you found that have worked? What's potentially involved with reinstalling a legacy head unit from a C30 wreck?

I am planning on trying a custom install at some stage on my C30, using the steering wheel interface and other components from the Aerpro single DIN conversion kit.
I've seen several images online showing people fitting aftermarket head units (particularly in Eastern Europe) and some even retaining the HVAC display.

I am currently using a Bluetooth and DAB add-on unit by Pioneer that plugs into the Auxilary input, but it's only good in the cap cities, Mandurah and the Gold Coast, once outside of those places, you're limited to FM or MP3s or if you have a phone signal, music streaming via Bluetooth. I do a lot of country travel, and still need AM, but the C30's module is stuffed, which is common, and the CD player is also munted too. I really would like to add a reversing camera too, without the mess of an external screen or dodgy rear view mirror replacement.
