[NSW] $1500 2WD for Shitbox Rally

My mate and I are doing the Shitbox Rally later in the year, driving from Port Douglas to Adelaide.

Trying to find something a little more out of the ordinary to do it in.

All entrant vehicles have to be 2wd and no more than $1500. If anyone has anything they would like to get rid of that meets our criteria please hit me up.

The rally isn't for a while but i'd like to start working on the car ASAP to get it ready and on the road if it isn't already.

A manual would be ideal but not crucial :)

Could probably be convinced to sell my 1995 BMW 730iL for $1500, it’ll need the exhaust welded up (no cat converters) and a new fan shroud ($80 from FCP) but should otherwise be fine for rego.

Sold an S40 2.0 manual for $1250 in good condition! Wish I still had it!!

From my experience S40 is a little bit small for long distance bush country travelling but then I am used to comfort of V70XC!!

Appreciate those of you that offered up your projects.

I have landed on this 940, body is a bit scruffy but no rust and it cost 1000 bucks.

Runs good but hasn't had any attention for the past 3 years so first thing will be getting it back to stage zero then having fun with some safari spec mods.

Good handling model, for a rally pay full attention to fully inspecting the brakes (strip down the calipers as you dont want a dragging brake).

Strong metal sump guard.
