pauldg123 I'm troubleshooting my v40 for a while. One thing I noticed was that the temperature sensor gave a 38 c in the morning before starting her up. In order to replace the faulty sensor, you have to remove the thermostat housing. There I noticed a bent thermostat. So it never closed properly which explained the noisy engine especially when I drove on the evening. Repco gave me an thermostat that has stamped 83 degrees celcius. However my Internet sourced workbook says 90 degrees. So is this a problem? Should I try to get another thermostat? Thanks for you help in advance!
Spac Really doesn’t make a whole lot of difference. It’s pretty common in Australia to run a lower temperature thermostat to give you a bit more head room on hot days. It should do a better job than the bent one!
pauldg123 Thanks, Repco agreed to swap it over for 90 degrees version. For ppl curious about the model, it is the Dayco DT36G instead of DT36A. So I will just swap it over since I already called before I saw this answer ?
