Sorry for delay replying...
Did the pan, gasket and filter. No debris nor particles. Tried to find sump bolt with magnet (3 shops no success). Stuck a (rare earth) magnet into the inside of pan.
Reused the (near new fluid) and will replace this in about a month once it's had a few longer runs of over an hour.
Blanked OD solenoid and cable tied it out of the way. Wasn't sure in the limited time I had left where the connector was to remove OD solenoid and wiring.
And Lo! 4th gear. So much more relaxed at speed. Now I'm passing other cars ... strange feeling.
Question:
Auto trans seems to be shifting up too early for my liking. What speeds at moderate acceleration should each change occur? And if too early, what are my options for adjusting this up 5-10kms? Goes into 4th at about 60-65km
Kickdown works but this requires a good press on the accelerator. But then, I do drive in a pretty cruisy manner.
