So, what brings you back to the fold, I hear you all ask.......

240 ownership is a fickle mistress. It's fair to say these wonderful cars have enjoyed a long life, and for good reason. They represent far more than their sum of parts. It is also fair to say they have thier own set of issues, and condition of available cars swings wildly from rusty wrecks with little value all the way to real gems with a curated history. Fortunately for us, these hidden gems are still affordable enough to be available for the likes of you and I.

Late model, Silver exterior, blue interior with blacked out trim is my ultimate 240.

was the car for sale in Brisbane a few weeks back? If so, the old man that sold it you bought it off a guy also in Brisbane who had it up on marketplace well over a year ago. I inquired about it maybe in December 2021 or January 2022 after it had been for sale for a while, and asked if I could see it a few times only to have my messages unanswered. I then sent a few messages just asking a few questions about the car, and I still have his answer in my facebook messenger archive of "The car is completely original." I then assumed it was some sort of scam.

Then the car appeared on gumtree a few times and back on marketplace and then showed up at what looked like a used car showroom about 3 or 4 months ago.... the price continuously varied from $10,000-$13,000. Then the old guy that sold it you... Greg or Anthony, i believe his name is??? well, he magically acquired it and quickly resold it to you. It used to have a GLT sticker in the rear window, but when I asked the guys out there about the car they didn't have any record of that car rego with anything they'd done to the car. So, long story short.... it's been around the block a few times.

The dealer you speak of is the original selling Volvo dealer that sold both Volvo and Mazda, and now just Mazda.

They purchased it back from the original family and then resold it hoping for a quick flip for profit. I was told they were initially asking $20k so perhaps they misread the market. The guy I purchased it from bought it for his son, but due to a medical condition can no longer drive.

GLT knew the car and Peer worked at the Volvo dealer when it was sold new. This is reflected in the service book.

The guy you bought it from was selling a white 240 sedan a few months before this last one and I went to look at it and he told me the same story about his son- seems like he needs to update his sales pitch if he's going to keep selling old Volvos… peer and Steve told me they had no info on the rego number. I asked the previous previous owner who wouldn't let me see the car what the VIN number was so I could check out the history with GLT, but he never replied to the that message. (the photo I have shows the 4th digit of the rego is an A? Which is why I recognised it when it came up for sale again and again) so it must have changed when the previous owner bought it? Anyway… it’s had an interesting last 2 years. Glad you’re happy with it
