Hey guys just wondering what mounts you prefer? I have heard the diesel ones are a little stiffer and there are also poly mounts which are quite stiff as well.
Cheers

Oooohh , don't think I would sit in a car with poly engine mounts on a red block unless racecar...

Fresh oem ones is my general preference.

Had a 240 with poly mounts once....they were fine, until they broke in half....

Dont go with urethane ones.
Genuine Volvo or decent aftermarket only.

In my experience, none of them last a long time. A 3rd mount is the answer.

Or switching to escort world class style mounts. Possibly not if you care about NVH though.

A third mount or chains over the mounts is the only way to keep them alive under hard use.

Where do you put the third mount ideally?
Any pics , stories to tell of such a thing?

I'm building something out of a 240 torque rod which sits between the head & right strut tower.

Someone remind me to get pics of mine. It's not fitted yet though.

$12 fcp diesel mounts and swap every 12 months or 25k
Add ratchet strap for additional reliability
volvodriverman
I had issue with diesel mounts whereby the gearbox mount wouldn't align when dropping a fresh engine with box attached in, which was strange... Ratchet strap is rustic but works.
carnut1100
Been down the ratchet strap route....
Vee_Que
Yld uses a ratchet strap fwiw.

If you mean a daily driver, I had not poly, but some kind of hard black plastic mounts purchased from Autopro. Fitted to a 1978 244DL. Never noticed a difference, but after a decade they were still fine, when the car was disposed of.
