^ Wow, that looks like the original type of (now extinct) K-Jet pump which doesn't have an in-tank pump. The 145 you had eons ago has the very same setup. From 1978 on and as a service option when vapor lock problems cropped up in earlier cars, they changed the tank over with a kit.
