dmc Pretty sure the same b230 under a penta banner runs vertical, different sump and oil pump though everything else generic b230.
VolvoHordz Panta engines like the AQ171 (b230 with 16v head) are also mounted slanted. That said, loads of people are running vertical with no apparent issues.
