Hey. I have been here for a little while but I dont think I have shown my constantly evolving daily.

I grew up and learnt to drive in a 1980 245. It was brown with a brown interior. Lashings of chrome on the outside. Heaps of fond memories as kid, driving up and down the east coast and several Tassie trips in the 245. After 20 years of ownership my parents sold it. About 12 years later I had a desire to own my own 240 and bought my current 1991 240 wagon.

It was an original, automatic B230F.

In the few years of ownership it has been through a few changes. Now in its current state its a B230F Turbo 6 speed.

Quick run down of specs for those interested.

Original B230F rebuilt with Forged rods. N/A pistons.

Haltech Elite 1000 with Flex fuel sensor and Haltech wideband.

Haltech IC-7 dash

Genuine Holset HX30

KL racing T2 camshaft and plenum.

Nissan 350z 6 speed CD00X box and single piece tailshaft.

3:31 rear diff.

Enkei KM-1 wheels. Porsche spec. 16x8 & 16x7

BNE torque rods and quick steer roll correction.

Yoshifab CAS adapter, L98 coils, Genuine HKS SSQV, electronic boost controller, plus more.

Its no show car. Im still in the process of tidying up trim and the engine bay. I have done a very basic tune while I sort out bits and pieces. Im now at the stage where Im ready to get it professionally dyno tuned. Hopefully In a month. I drive the 240 everyday to and from work and It doesnt miss a beat :)

Neat ride

I wish I never sold it

This wagon is where I want to eventually get to with my wagon

Thanks matey. I'm glad you did sell it to me haha

Legit what my goal is if I decide to build the B230 in my 240. Any power figures and how does the 6 speed go with the engine?

looked great!

No power figures as of yet until I book it into the tuner.

6 speed suits the engine well. I had a 3.73 rear end but I was forever changing gears. 3.31 ratio suits it well.

The hx30 is super quick at spooling too. Quicker than the chinabay T3 I had on it.

      Sounds like a fun combo!

Very impressive, I'm hoping my GT will look as neat one day.

      Nicely done.

Wish I'd taken a closer look at it when I bought a couple of seats from you a while back.

damn i hope my wagon looks half as good when I finally get somewhere with it...

      G'day Eric,

Where did you get the coil bracket and what coils are you running? I have LS1 coils and a bracket to mount on the on the firewall but I think that the set up you have looks better and much less cluttered.

The bracket is from Yoshifab. Its a very nice bit of kit. Well designed and made.

        Coils are L98/Ls2 + other ls's I believe. These were from a 6.0l ve.

        Nice ! Looks awesome.

How are you finding the Nissan box?

        I assume Deeworks adaptor plate?

What did you use for clutch and flywheel?

        Cheers,

        dan

Looks great. Hopefully there will be a Tas turbo bricks meet at some stage and I can have a closer look.

How do you like the KLR T2 cam? I've got the same thing to go in mine.

Nissan box feels good. I don't mind the ratios. Yeah the adapter is deeworks with a m46 bellowing. The car originally was auto so I had to source and convert everything.

The only small issue I'm having is the autosports engineering forward mount shifter. There's some trial and error to get it they way I like it. It's been a couple of years now so they may have made some improvements on the design.

Standard flat flywheel machined and suited for a Ford 240mm HD exedy pressure plate. Clutch disc from NPC. Heavy duty item, to suit Nissan. I gave them the sizes, spline count etc and they sorted me out. Clutch feels great.

I like the T2 cam. The holset spooks quickly but the cam keeps pulling through the rev range. Cam timing is advanced 2 degrees.

It will be interesting to see what it's like after its properly tuned.

Did you end up getting it tuned? Am very curious and I bet a lot of other members are 😁

          So actually, yes.

I managed to find the time and gave it to the tuner. I wante

d a baseline to work with.

Some info on what is happening and where to go from here. I was having trouble with knock and boost control.

It made 160kw on a hub dyno. He got the timing, fueling and general smoothness of the engine pretty darn great.

But the hx30 is just too small. It just wants to spool far too quick and inturn the engine is having trouble breathing. It's also creating an issue with knock and boost control. Although the boost is pretty steady as shown on the print out he capped it to 18psi.

It's fun to drive around town with virtually no lag but it's time to upgrade to a larger turbo.

So anyway here's some info for you guys building b230's. I can see the hx30 being fantastic as a factory turbo replacement but with a cam, intake etc its a bottleneck, as to be expected.

That's interesting stuff. What turbo are you thinking of trying next?

I have a Pulsar GTX3071 T3 .63 on a stock 531 head with Volvo A cam and it made 150kw at the hubs at 8psi. It starts building boost at about 2800rpm, so 2nd gear at 25km/h.

            GingerNinja

Yea OK. The g30, gtx3071 or equivalent is what my tuner suggested. But with a .82 housing.

            I'm running a KL T2 cam.

I'm planning on a 12cm hx35 as I already have the plumbing and 90° bend there. The less I need to modify the better

Does your pulsar gtx have an internal wastegate? Can't seem to see that as an option
