Volvo 940 radio suppression relay. Replace or rewire?

We moved house on the weekend, and my 940 suffered a dead RSR #1323592, causing us to have to get it towed, which was a headache given our schedule.

I've reflowed the solder and got it going again, but has anyone wired in an additional relay to take some of the load from RSR so it lasts longer? Or is there any other suggestions?

Also if anyone has a spare #1323592 in working cond, I wouldn't mind grabbing it.

They don't fatigue or get too hot those relays, unlike the fuel pump relay

They only ground the fuel injectors but if you need a spare I could get a new one for you

Also make sure the wiring bullet connectors are tight and secure, I've had to re-do mine before

A valuable source of information as usual. I thought maybe they had the same issue as the fuel pump relay. Inbox me with the price of a new one, definitely worth having a spare.

If reflowed with 2% silver solder, I've never seen them fail a second time

Yeah in my experience the issue is usually the connector rather than the relay itself.

can order some other things to make the shipping worth while, or organise a group buy… I was just part of one and it cuts the shipping costs down by going in with a few others. skandix will also send small one off items with fed ex for 35 euros from my recent experience with them. Of course, if you’re happy to pay $200 oz dollars for a relay, have at it… just my 2 cents
