ThunderbirdsRGo Live on the Sunshine Coast and looking for a preferably new Alternator seems there are none in Australia yet I thought the Bosch Alternator was used in many vehicles any help would be appreciated
ramrod Those Bosch units are repariable, couple of new bearings thrown in, new regulator and Robert's your mothers brother for another 30 years if not more
ThunderbirdsRGo Had RACQ look at it and it was smoking for them , picked up and taken to auto electrician who diagnosed it was stuffed .
adrianw smoke could be from a variety of things, flogged bearings or a build up of crud on the inside. I have done the regulators before and replaced the brushes. Does this you tube video help ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm_3r1GfJKgCheersAdrianW aka Rusty
