Alternator for 1996 850R

Live on the Sunshine Coast and looking for a preferably new Alternator

seems there are none in Australia yet I thought the Bosch Alternator was used in many vehicles

any help would be appreciated

Those Bosch units are repariable, couple of new bearings thrown in, new regulator and Robert's your mothers brother for another 30 years if not more

thanks , I think the issues is that it’s fried for some reason, started smoking

Are you sure it’s not something else making smoke? Oil leaks vacuum leaks etc

Had RACQ look at it and it was smoking for them , picked up and taken to auto electrician who diagnosed it was stuffed .

smoke could be from a variety of things, flogged bearings or a build up of crud on the inside. I have done the regulators before and replaced the brushes. Does this you tube video help ?
