Hi there, I have a 2004 S60 and my mechanic has said it requires a new ABS control module (after scanning the car due to check engine light).
Only problem is he is unsure if it can be fixed or not.
I'm waiting for him to call me to say whether he can find somewhere that will repair the module, but while I wait, I thought I'd ask a few questions (its been a few days since the prognosis was delivered!). Questions are:
Is there a place in Australia that can fix the module currently in the car.
Does the module need to be programmed with the VIN - which means a second hand part won't work (assuming once programmed from a new blank one that can't be changed).
Also assuming they are no longer available new although if they were, I assume would likely cost multiples of thousands...
Can anyone shed some light on this?! I love the car and want to get it fixed.
