Hi All,

Ordered a set of forged pistons for my Amazon rally car project. The package has been sitting in Frankfurt for three and a half weeks so far now, with little prospect of any movement soon, all for the wonderfully cheap delivery price of 140 Euros!

When asked about this lethargic delivery, they blame Covid, war in the Ukraine etc. In the meantime, have ordered stuff from Nordicar in the Netherlands, with no problem, and a 5 day delivery in one case, the other was 7 days (using UPS). I am told by Skandix that DHL may try some other means to get the package to me that will also involve sea freight! WTF! Could be several months away yet.

I would advise anyone contemplating a purchase from Skandix, to avoid them if you want to get your stuff in anything like a reasonable time, especially since they charge so much for freight, which is bloody ironic.

Cheers,

Richard.

*See my experience with DHL......

DONT USE DHL.

That long waiting for a plane to Australia is pretty consistent with my experience, should be on the move again soon.

It's when they give it to shonky delivery service from the dhl hub it gets nasty. Very stupid people on the last leg. I never did get my delivery or explanation from DHL.

Recent package via DHL from China was 4 days inc customs clearance from Peking to 2148

3 to 7 days with DHL from Japan. The fastest I've had from Germany is 3 weeks and longest was 5 months. We are not on the main delivery line for DHL from Europe, so it's be expected.

20 days later

Another three weeks has passed, without any further resolution. Despite saying that would get back to ASAP, nothing heard for three weeks. If I did that in my job, I'd get roasted....

Skandix has my money, so is under no great impetus to resolve the problem it seems, and clearly DHL (their partner in crime - so to speak) are useless.

You have all been warned...

Dhl just did lax to my house in 5 days flat

Love them long time

Good for you! I really wonder if some muppet has lost my package in Frankfurt, and no-one want's to own up to it? Really starting to piss me off. What I don't like is the 'computer says no' kind of response, can't seem to help you attitude. I'm not interested in punishing anyone, just want a bloody result!

I think you may have fallen foul of the DHL fob the last leg off to Dodgy Brothers Courier Scam Co. Mine was so ridiculous and only the vendor helped by giving me my money back after trying to deal with DHL.

If it works for you that's fine but I'd never risk it again. They are broken.

My vendor said to use the other post option and he seemed to be wary of using DHL again too as it costs HIM to fix their fvkups.

Skandix customer service is usally really helpful. Particularly if you deal with Florian. But getting any courier to own to anything is impossible.

      Update:

Apparently, the parcel has finally arrived in Melbourne after sitting for 7 weeks in Frankfurt.. Seems that I will finally be able to start the engine build soon.......

Thanks all for helpful advice etc.

Its not specific to DHL or any other carrier, regular postal services too have massively variable delivery times, as do local couriers - a lot of it is down to policies of the number of people 'on the floor' sorting parcels at any given time. Throw in rampant flu cases, covid and isolation and you've got longer delivery times than we've seen previously.

On top of that, factor in the same style of issues at parts/product distribution centres and warehouses.

The same things are hurting our business too - I wouldnt neccessarily beat on Skandix or anyone else. I'd expect them not to have much influence over it, in the same way that in same cases all we can do is apologise for the delay.
