Volvo 240 in tank fuel pump removal tool

Hello I suspect I may have a faulty IT fuel pump and am looking to loan , or hire tool to remove the lid to access it , I am in Melbourne

You can test the pump without having to remove it

See if you can hear the pump working (as well as the main fuel pump) usually you can hear it when listening closely at the fuel filler pipe

To test the pump, remove the supply line to the main pump and crank the car. It should have a full stream coming out but not at pressure.

Thanks Ramrod, the reason I need to inspect it I feel it may have a dirty filter sock

If you're going to go that far, then it is good practice to just replace the whole assembly with a new pump, filter, submersible hose and clamps
