my old car. if anyones wondering i sold it as a parts/resto to a couple from melb. it needs some welding but not much, and it was mechainically good. had a motor put in it by the guy who had it before me. it was always reliable. i did a fair bit of mech work on it.

In the yard is also a September 1992 built 240 wagon, has some bits missing, door, drivers seat, big rear main oil leak, 220k on the clock, if anyone is keen to rescue this unit.

Any oil leaks on the red one? I hate oil leaks cos I don't have the ability to remove the transmission to fix them. Is it auto or manual?

Nar, One of the ones Berrys had at their wrecking yard, I've had a decent look at it once before, it needs work but if someone really loves 245's it may be worth repairing, the 2nd 245 that's their the woman that traded it in for part of her repairs cost for her other replacement green 245 that she bought off Heino, I believe the red one she couldn't afford to fix, I think she was short on money ;) , I dunno if it's the one on eBay or not, their were 2 245's in that wrecking yard that look almost identical to me, too confusing, lol

Im willing to put the love and work into it but there is really only so much I can do, for the next few years its likely to just sit mostly unchanged until I have the space to completely rip it apart and get all the rust sorted, resprayed and everything.

jay, i have access to 2 245 spares cars if you need panels etc cut out.... i sadly dont have the space for it now.

Its really tempting to buy the 245, but with my XC70 being a bit problematic I should probably really focus on spending what little money I have on repairs for that car...

With the gearbox problems do you want another?? My V70 , burgundy with beige will be for sale soon enough if you want cheap Wagon for her that isn't going to shit its gearbox any time soon.

Mum wants an XC the same as mine. Ill probably keep mine and either do a manual conversion. If I do sell it, It'll just be for a post '03 anyway which looks exactly the same so not worth it haha.
I dunno if mum likes the old V70s or not, she seems okay with my old one, not in love with the thing like she is with the XC though, but if it was nice enough she'd probably consider it. Its a T5 isn't it?
Eh I have my older blue V70 as my daily drive now, the XC will just sit out the back until I can be bothered with it again
