I usually don't replace the flat plastic piece with the silver clip at one end that the wiper rubbers slide into. But I have had one crack before, so I want to keep a couple of spares. Problem is there's at least 3 different widths on Supercheap/Repco: 6.5mm, 7.5mm, and 8.5mm.
Car is a 1991 240 still with its original wipers. What should the width be of the slotted flat plastic piece be that the rubbers themselves slide into?
To clarify:
There's the rubber squeegee that actually wipes water off the glass...... which slides into a flat plastic piece with a slot down the middle and silver locking clip at one end...... which slides into four curled teeth on the wiper blade...... which in turn connects onto the wiper arm.
(That's what I call all the bits anyway.) I'm after the width of the #2 piece.
