I recently purchased a 2013 XC 60 T5 Tecknic used with 112k klm on the clock. The delivery was delayed for nearly a month because on final pre delivery inspection it was noted that the gearbox bearing seals were leaking. Now in all fairness to the dealership they did a full repair gearbox out.
The episode started concerns for me on reliability and parts quality. A major seal failure at 112k in a Volvo was not what I expected.
I am a Volvo enthusiast for many years have owned a number of them right back to a 142, my other car is an C30. Always maintained to specs never had an issue.
I even went to Sweden to visit the Volvo factory and do the tour
Having taken delivery I decided to have my own mechanic do a full grill to tailpipe inspection and report. The inspection revealed a radiator leak and an engine mount needing replacement, 110K? My c30 T5 has done 190k and other then maintenance consumables no issues.
Anyone else out there experiencing quality issues with the new Chinese XC60? I must admit I am seriously considering getting rid of it.
