OdinsRedblock from memory the correct length box to line shifter up with the tunnel hole in a 740 is an AU falcon box?
would you need to adapt up a mustang input shaft to make use of this clutch?
or is there a mustang box that is correct length to line up in a 740?
i suppose there are probably shifter relocation kits as well though?
sorry. Probably not the best place for these questions but I’m here now so *shrug*
AU V8 box is the best fit for a 7/9. The correct BW/BTR/Tremec T5 input shaft part numbers for a input shaft needed to work with this kit are in my post in this thread above. Choice depends on if the box has 23 or 24 tooth input shaft, &/or a needle roller or tapered input; details are in the T5 threads.
T5 gearboxes are like Lego, there are over 100 different T5 OE assemblies which vary widely in strength, ratios, and dimensions. The AU Ford V8 is preferred since it has an extension housing (thus gearlever location) of ideal and correct length for a 7/9, it has the strong V8 gearset and tapered input shaft bearing, and the cluster shaft mates with a US-type input shaft without any hassles, unlike the 6-pot Ford boxes.
Back to the kit for sale - if I didn't have most of these bits already, I'd have put money down by now. It's a very fair price for good gear.
