When you get 'reds' (nice way of putting it, lol) the ECU sends a signal to the fuel pump relay, which runs the fuel pumps momentarily and primes the fuel system.
Fuel pump relays are known to fail.
Also, pink-label ECUs have a known problem where an internal hybrid circuit fails and the fuel pumps don't work.
Fuse and relay location info is on a sticker at the back of the front ashtray holder - these did change a few times over the years.
