hey guys, some of you may have seen my post on turbobricks or heard of me with problems ages ago but we have made progress.... kinda.
it's abit long I apologies
so ever since I turbo swapped my 240 I've had a stumbling issue.
if you snap the throttle shut after hard acceleration it stumbles until eventually sorting itself out.
if you're at low speeds though it will stumble itself till it stalls.
so I've been chasing this issue for years, everything has been changed many times and we could never figure it out.
well we figured it out!!!
the problem is there's no real solution I've thought of that isn't ghetto and dodgy as all hell and that's where you fine folks come into it.
so i unplugged the iac and no more stumble.
I can snap the throttle shut over and over and it recovers perfectly.
I have tried numerous other iacs and the result is always the same stumble when snaping it shut.
it seems the iac can't react fast enough after high boost then suddenly snapping the throttle shut.
with the iac unplugged idle is at 1200rpm and hunts every now and again.
the short term solution is to delete the iac completly and install a ball valve in place, manually set idle where I want it and call it a day.
that will fix my stumble and high/hunting idle but it's fair from ideal.
ive actually read alot of threads on turbobricks with people having the same issue with no solution, others have chosen to use the ball valve fix like I am or using 2.2 throttle bodies and setting idle thru the black knob
but then there's guys running 30+psi thru big turbos on lh2. 4 with no problems at all so I'm left wondering what the hell is causing it.
does anyone have any ideas why all my iacs can't keep up or a solution that doesn't Involve doing ghetto arse shit like using plumbing ball valves haha
any and all ideas would be super helpful, it's great I've figured out how to get rid of the stumble but I would like a better solution to the problem or other things to check that might be causing the issue.
