Hi all, I have been lurking here for a while, just joined.
I bought my wife an XC60 T5 2.0 'auto' from a Volvo dealer just under 3 months ago. It has the Ford Powershift in it.
I have googled the hell out of this trans in Volvos, could find very few posts/links about it. Much more mention of the Aisin auto than this one! Google the Ford version - 'powershift' though and hundreds of links. One one thread here that I could find.
Anyway, the car has done 102,000km. One owner before me. Previous mech when I called him said trans oil changed at 90,000km. Which now makes me suspicious. Car was traded in at a Volvo dealer at 100,000km, where I bought it.
Soon after I bought it, the trans flared during a 1-2 shift. I got a bit nervous then, but though it a hiccough as it didn't do it again... for a while. This was in lockdown.
Anyway now it has dropped out of gear maybe 3-4 times, either during 1-2 shift or higher gears, last time as leaving the M4 freeway. My wife said last time a week ago it had a warning like 'Transmission performance low'. It seemed to correct itself and kept going, the error msge disappeared on restart.
Last night it did its dropping a gear thing momentarily again. Checked for codes with a generic OBDII reader, nothing showing.
Has anyone else recently had this problem and how did you fix it? My reading of Powershift failures/issues like this suggests it could be the various internal sensors getting dirty/poor connections. THere is no gearshift shuddering going on.
I sent an email about the problem to the dealer, no response. The 3-month statutory warranty runs out on Monday, but unless it plays up, what is the dealer going to say?
Thanks for any help or suggestions .
