I would have thought that 4 stud 850 drive shafts were the same. certainly early 5 studders are .I have never tried though.

For the 5 stud vehicles; turbo, non-turbo, auto and manual shafts are all different but all interchangeable. The rh shaft is different on a car with an M58 or M59, any of the others should fit up fine.

You can certainly get them new on ebay. not sure what they are like though

It says 850, but up to years 97. I can confirm, my 850 was a 96 and its driveshafts certainly fit, they're just not much better

I might call him in the morning and ask as well if I have no luck... I feel like that one on eBay (link above) should be fine, it says it suits the 850 models up until 97. Mine was a 96 and it fit (we changed it before working out it was screwed).

I dunno, but I assume if Im buying driveshafts for a standard 2.5 20V 850 they'll fit a standard 2.5 20V V70 :)

Ahhh I know what you mean, yes I do have one of those. My mums Laser came with a thing in its kit though that literally extended the lug nut bar haha.

I just decided Im going to buy new ones so I don't have to worry about this crap again for another 10 years.

I have heard of others having troubles with cheap aftermarked axles, so be careful. Personally, I have had good experience rebooting my old OEM axles. It is pretty easy, provided you arent scared of old grease :-) (and of course reboot them before they get full of gravel)
Also, if it is any comfort, second time around it is much easier to get the axles out :-)

Yeah, I had trouble with the cheepies on my Telstar, due to an oil leak they quickly got perished by oil, only had the car for about 2 years, did 20,000 kays on them. Oh well, as long as it gets me through a roady and the next two and a half years of uni that'll be fine.

Yeah it should be, everything down there is already nice and loose haha.

I guess my point is, if you are considering cheap aftermarket axles, you shouldnt really count out second hand OEM axles. They should also be cheap, and with a new boot kit (cheap on ebay) you can get plenty of life out of them.

Otherwise, at least talk to someone that has used (or experience of) the aftermarket ones you are looking at, so that you don't end up with rubbish.
