SPT940 I was looking at them tonight, but all the repairers that I have shown pics to (high res pics that were sent to me by the guy), have said one wheel is not repairable, without question, so as I said "One is irrepairable. Anyone need 3 spares and buy a 4th for US$899" if not more landed here or from a dealer. http://www.vivaperformance.com/heico-volution-v-wheels/
SPT940 I suppose you could look at it this way; $300 for the 3 wheels $750+ for a refurb (not inc. Titan Finish which could be as much another $150 each) As quoted. $825 for a new wheel plus shipping. Say $2725, versus 4 brand spanking new wheels @ $3300 ($2900 plus $400 shipping) OK you could easily do the refurb yourself and strip and repaint them or powdercoat them. Plus a lot of time & effort!?!?!? There, I've convinced myself not to do it!
Ex850R A blast and powdercoat is $240 in Brooklyn , Rattray Engineering , lots of coulers , shades and sparkle finish , very good job.
SPT940 Maybe after they're sanded, epoxy filled and sanded again. They're seriously rough and there's only 3. Nobody will touch the bent one. As it's bent inwards laterally the risk of crack is too great, so several have told me after seeing the photos.
Rob SPT940;27727 wroteThey do look fimsy, especially if you are running 225 x 20 R30 series tyres!?!?!?! 225/30 R20 would perhaps be a better fit ;)
Slowbrick I know someone who would be able to get them fixed. My Gemini's were all bent to the shithouse when I got them. One even had a mad fold in the back lip and made the whole thing more oval than round. 4 years later they are still going strong after being repaired. Just gotta know people in the bizness
AshDVS If I thought I was going to ever own an S60, I'd pick them up for sure. There isnt much that you cant have repaired, they're not a common wheel, so probably worth some effort/time. That said, I think that 20" is probably too big for an S60 so I'm a bit torn there.
SPT940 I will be out there to look on the weekend. I've had several shats with the guy. I would buy them in a heartbeat, but as I said, reputable repairers I have shown pics to, (ones that the owner sent to me upon my request) have said one is a no go. I'd be happy to buy them and repair the scuffs myself, prep & have powdercoated in charcoal pearl. I'll still take a look as I will be out that way.
