So a few weeks ago i noticed the wires going into the grey 8pin connector on the firewall near the rear injector were bare with no insulation, i assumed this was something dumb like a small fire or maybe some harsh chemical had come into contact in the past and the previous owner had never fixed it. So i quickly traced those wires back to where there was insulation and just spliced in some new wire leading to the plug and went on my way.
Come today ive gone to start the old girl up and its not starting, im pretty sure its getting no fuel. Assuming ive messed up the wiring i do some googling for a new wiring harness and low and behold i discovered the apparent common issue with the wire insulation crumbling.
Now im stuck, im scared that me messing around with those wires has cause other wires down the line to crumble and i dont want to mess with more wiring to cause a never ending loop of wire crumbling and me replacing it.
Ive tried looking for new wiring harnesses but i cant find one for this model, what have you guys done to resolve this? I have the know-how and equipment to remake the wiring harness but thats gonna be a massive pain in the ass. Hoping someone here either makes replacements or knows where to get one.
*attached is what i think is the appropriate harness* TIA
