Convert to Borgwarner T5 from a V8 ford falcon

I've actually got a t5 from a falcon l6 but the input shaft is to short and shifter is to far back is the v8 t5 a better fit?

Sorry you will need to change the input shaft regardless of which T5 you get

Sorry just to correct ramrod as the information he's provided is a bit misleading.

If you have a mustang V8 box you change nothing other than getting the box rebuilt probably. If you get a falcon V8 box good luck, but they aren't the same as the mustang box either and rare to get now.

You can get a vn-vs commodore V6 T5 and the shifter is almost right for a 740, but you can get a pre 93 mustang cobra T5 input shaft as they are the straight bearing model

If you get an eb-el falcon box with straight bearings you get the same. Shifter length is better for a 240.

If you have an ef-ba falcon na 6cyl on box, you get the input shaft modified for length by gear repair as the gear cluster is Australia only as best as myself and the transmission guy who does this stuff every day can tell. Au shifter is perfect for a 740. Ba is a bit long.

If you're keen, you can get an xr6t t5 and fit the mustang cobra 93 shaft. You can swap shifter housings over. And also have the box rebuilt as it will be stuffed having come from an xr6t turbo.

I think I'll use my t5 I've got ill check what bearing style I've got.change the input shaft or get it extended and go with that if I have to cut some out of the shifter hole I will.
