Hey Folks,
New to the forum but long time volvo driver. Currently tinkering on a 2013 S60R (P* tuned) looking to make it a bit more "spirited". I received an IPD downpipe a few weeks ago but the quality leaves a bit to be desired. There were scratches right across the flange face and the welds were a bit ordinary with one definately holed. Cost me dosh to get these problems fixed and make it serviceable. IPD says the gasket should fill the striations but use a little high temp RTV to make sure. Thanks for the advice fella's!!!!
Anyway, with all the extras added on the pipes are not cheap (but cheaper than others.....lesson learn't). If you go down the IPD exhaust route, just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. I know we risk it when we purchase from overseas, warranties, shipping and all that, but I would have thought that IPD could have at least sent me a unit that would work.
By the way, a MASSIVE thankyou to all the thread write-ups about these vehicles. As many people have said, getting the original downpipe out was a huge PITA but I was sorely disappointed when I went to put the new one in and actually had a real close look at it. Should've looked a bit closer when it first arrived a few weeks ago... Live and learn.
