OK where do you begin, not the worlds best example of a C70 but it is the best colour and no exploding sunroof
Bought it 2 or 3 years ago for a bit of fun, I must be getting old so I just don’t drive it, don’t think I have done 2000 k since then, TBH i think its just a bit too ‘untidy’ for me, I really only have time to look wash the cars I have and this needs a fair bit of time invested into the small bits that will get it back to 100%
Certainly gets plenty of attention, its been debadged so everyone thinks it’s a Monaro ( I have one of those too for sale if you want one) but we all know the original Volvo is much prettier
Its fast, like very fast, feels as quick as my AMG did (although it probably isn’t) plus you get the great Turbo ‘rush’ as the power kicks in (until then tho you will get beaten by Hiace vans)
It had a VP Tune/software upgrade back in 2013, I don’t know much beyond that, I do believe it has been back there since then for a ‘tweak’
Has an IPD air box, and one of the Mac valve upgrades, and last year I had a turbo back 3’ exhaust fitted with big CAT etc and a Polestar exhaust tip (so now it has a O2 sensor error code)
Engine seems strong, no rattles, no leaks, no smoke
Ride is atrocious as its been fitted with boy racer suspension, I believe they are Bilsteins and super super super low and hard springs, up side is it corners very flat which makes it feel and look fast even when you arnt (as long as there are no bumps), no knocks or weird noises tho suggests all the bushed etc are OK
Front seat leather is knackered as apparently putting leather treatment on leather is too much like hard work, rest of the interior is good, carpets, mats, rear seats, door cards are all as they should be, everything works inside, has some dodgy radio fitted to it that I still cant work out how to use but if you want to stream that latest Kardashian podcast to it you can (I have the original radio if you want it but no code)
I have a fair bit of history with it, im the 3rd owner in last 10 years, lots of receipts therefor work at GLT so has a fair service history. Timing belt, brake pads, brake fluid, cam seals, plugs, radiator all done in last 30000 km
Last report from them said it needed CV boots replaced, engine mounts and one of the VVT gears wasn’t 100%, the car will come with the good used replacements that I received with the car
Has the IPD angel? Headlight and grill (I have good original ones you can have)
The wheels are the IPD Pegasus copies, they are as new as I had them all tidied up and refinished, tyres are 235/45.17, rears are Michelin but cut up from rubbing (strangely has never done that for me but I never have never carried unnecessary weight like a passenger), fronts are good, only done 10,000 k
Body is surprisingly straight, I had the peeling clear coat fixed, has a couple of bad scratches in one door and rear bumper is a bit rough
I also have a brake upgrade kit using the XR5 callipers. Including new pads, machined discs, braided brake lines (front and back) and a new DO88 reverse plumbed intercooler kit for the car, as well as a complete (but accident damaged) C70 convertible as a spares car, also have a set of the 18” genuine BBS wheels in fair to good condition
It also has nearly 6 months rego, doesn’t include the plates
Price…. Mmmm.. I dunno, if you want all the unfitted extras and a RWC then its going to be $6500, if your interstate or want a project and don’t need rego or RWC and don’t want the extras then $4000, if you just want a set of cheap scrap wheels, a stock exhaust and suspension then $2500
