Hi all ,

Hoping to get some tips here.

I know the C70 is notorious for suspension noise, but what I’m hearing is excessive !!

When driving the car and particularly when doing right hand turns, there is a lot of rattling and clonking from the front left wheel area.

I can grab the top of the wheel and there is a little bit of in/out free play/movement . When I jack up the car and remove the wheel, there however do not seem to be any loose suspension components and I can’t replicate the noise.

Any thoughts ?

When you jack up the car and leave the wheel on

Either the shock will move where the piston connects with the shock body

Or

Its the wheel bearing

When did you last replace all the front wear items, on bad roads it can be under 40,000 KLM I have found.

The CV joints usually wear first on the left hand side (in OZ). But this is usually only heard when under power.

Otherwise, as suggested above.
