Hi all, recently became a 2nd hand Volvo owner, love the car but the information system is telling me 'engine system service required'. I've taken it back to the dealer and after a number of instances they tell me it's the engine oil level sensor which isn't calibrated and that these engines should run an oil level about 5mm from the low level on the dipstick. Surely there must be a fix to this issue? I feel the dealer is responsible for this repair under statutory warranty.
Has anyone had a similar issue or can anyone offer any suggestions as to how this can be fixed?
Thank you
Jameso

where is your oil level sitting at the moment?

Hi Rob, about 1/3 of the way up from low level. It's now been set at two different levels after being filled to full on the first oil change. I'm guessing it's a calibration issue or a dirty sensor?
Rob
They will definitely fault if you fill them too high. I would have thought at 1/3 it should be fine.. I would guess you are on the right track with the dirty suggestion.

Thanks for your help Rob I appreciate it
