ramrod I have a 2004 XC90 T6 with brake failure warning lampThere is a fault in the brake control module, odometer stopped working. What is the repair for this? Are they repairable and if not can another one be fitted and work?
timbo What specific codes? I don't think you can get away with fitting a 2nd hand one on these. They're not as simple to repair as the earlier P80 ones but I believe they can be fixed. Does the Speedo work? Also there were issues with water damage to the cem on some of these t6
ramrod There are no fault codes displayed anymore, it seems the BCM is dead, no communicationSpeedo works, I've heard there is software to adapt a second hand unit to the car, or would it be more wise to repair the current part? Any idea who to use?
timbo Do you have Vida? If BCM was dead there would be heaps of codes instantly for communication etc. If it's a intermittent communication issue it's unlikely to be the module itself
timbo Vida + dice gives you a much better idea of what the issue is over a generic scan tool. Also has diagnostic procedures and workshop manuals. When a fault code is stored you can look at freeze-frame data from various other related sensors.I wouldn't try to diagnose an issue like this without it.
Ex850R And you would need VIDA/Dice or VDash/Dice to program it anyway. Im sure ive seen (but not really paid attention to ) others with VDash programming older modules like these.
