Despite paying for a VIDA subscription directly with Volvo, they won’t issue me with a login because I don’t have a physical workshop. ?Wondering if anyone with a valid subscription could give me access for a couple of days so I can run some software updates? Happy to pay a fee.

As far as I'm aware, despite the recent law change, you still can't access even with a subscription in Australia.

What was the advice they gave you? That you need a licenced workshop?

    They claim the address I provided was a ‘personal address’ and not linked to a ‘workshop address’. I have replied stating my business/ABN is linked to my address too, which means it’s a business address. And I shouldn’t need to have a physical workshop to get a VIDA subscription. I’ll try ACCC next

    Hmm i feel they're just giving you the run around, and the new law doesn't come into effect until next year.

    Even if you manage to get the subscription working you still have to buy software from a local dealer as it's kinda tied into their spare parts ordering system.

    I feel like the accc still have no idea how this new law will actually be implemented...

      Just be aware that during some software downloads the car goes dead as have seen this happen a few times.

        So put on smart charger everytime?

        no at dealer have had a few cars go dead after doing downloads and always charger on , but lucky at dealer as they cover it through volvo

          I did read a disclaimer saying it can take a long time depending on internet and if the net crashes it can stuff your computer's.
