Could it be that the S40 ignition coils are different?Check the numbers on the coils

This bloke knows his volvo shit does he? it's seeming to he a bit of a raritie to find anyone that has got their head around them I reckon. Even some of the mechanics that specialise in European cars cower at the mention of volvo

Tired and forgetfulness......the taste of ageing.....

I bought a decent used laptop to install the VIDA I have with the VX Diag tool O got here , needs W7 , I forgot, more work......then installing ....need to get on a forum for install run-through. You will need help navigating it too so when you get one get the codes and post up here.

OK sorted it out had I t booked into a volvo specialist Monday to get sorted was going g to b I y new coil pack before I sent it there . Yesterday however I remembered I I ad a third set of coil packs on a rooted 2.4 engine under a tarp out behind the shed so I took them off the engine dunno how as the tarp has.ni holes in It but every plug tube was full of water when I pulled the coils out , as you could imagine the coils looked shocking any where metal or the magnet was showing had rust everywhere I wasn't going to but thought fuck it wi t hurt its a 5 min job give em a quick hit with a wire brush checked em in the engine i was expecting it not t o start at all but it fired up first go the worst looking set of coils pluss a different part number and the prick is fixed but now it's not getting full boost only 5psi so I'll put my elevate electric boost controller On in the hope it's the factory controller packed it in.

Check your vac/turbo lines too, misfires can sometimes blow them off.
