It was one of the reasons I bought the car, I'd like another set for the 960 but they aren't easy to find.

@rado if your interested in Pegasus wheels like @Jamest5r_ I can make you a set

I just can't tell the difference, they’re just like the real one's . Can you whip up some of those special one spoke rims as well ?

I was working at this guy's house today and he's got a very nice RS focus , point being he's got Michelin pilot sport 4s , nice looking tyre . At last I've actually seen them in the flesh. As said before always gone Bridgestone but yeah those Michelin look good

Price and availability is the thing though. I think Goodyear F1 Directionale5 are good too. Conti sport as well.

Getting the size you need will be the issue so it cuts the choices.....

I found buying used of gumtree or marketplace gave me the cheap way to see what was good , funnily enough , a Chinese brand Ovation gave me massive fun in the metallic burgundy rocket V70T auto that was epic torque monster!

Tried them on the V60 , bought new cheaply 265/40/18 and they were good , the wheels were not!

              a month later

My adaptors are slowly getting to me , they have hit Perth so hopefully get here this week and end of month get tyres fitted to these beauties

OK so my understanding is Bridgestone wear out pretty quickly as opposed to say Michelin.

In the last year the R has done under 2k . I've had the car close to 4 years now and done a total of around 20k .

So really wear isn't the issue here for a weekend car .

              Hmm , I just love Bridgestone ! ?

I dont really think that they wear out faster, it's more than their grip deteriorates more quickly, some bridgestone models more than others.

eg. RE050A provides really good grip levels right down to the tread wear indicators, whereas the RE003 is quite good until you've got about 70% tread left and at that point they're not great and you'll find the limit of them much quicker than you think you should.

The S001 is interesting too as it's supposed to be a 'premium' bridgestone offering but mine seemed to really fall off with about 50% treadwear left.

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 has a fairly boring tread pattern but offers grip until nearly worn out. If you've got 19" wheels, you can get the 4S which is supposed to be better again.

The Pilot Sport Cup 2 is very good as well but dont last long at all. Not sure if you can get them in sub-19" sizes. Worth a look though.

I've got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on my wheels for the V70, in 225 40 18. I had them on the Focus XR5 in 235 40 18 and really liked them so bought them again. Pricing was decent and Michelin had a $100 cashback promo.

Dave Barton sells wheel cap decals in the Jag size cap , I bought a few different designs but yet to put them on.

*It took a long time for the heavy envelope he sent them in to get here. (a tour of half the states in USA it seemed....)

I'd pay for premium delivery next time or ask him to put in a small box for parcel Post which seems to be much faster....

I was offered different caps when I bought the wheels but stuck with these red Jag caps ?

Interesting Ash , hmm . Have a couple of weeks to choose as it'll get new boots at the end of month.

Adaptors arrived today and as they would not supply bolts in Volvo size, just thought I'd try some old wheel bolts....

The 60° pitch is perfect. The rear also sit with no fouling but as you see the fronts the bolts poke out . Where's ASH ?

I like the Jag centrecaps too. In fact, I'd run them in preference to the Volvo ones. :)

I cant even fit centre caps (unless I make something up) to my Koya wheels.

There's a half-head height (say that 10x fast) bolt that I've seen in M12x1.75 w/17mm hex head. Let me see if I can find some details on it. Looks like you only need 3-4mm of clearance anyway.

Nice one Ash , appreciated mate ?

Dave Barton has the red V like old Volvo , moose ones etc, I couldn't divide so got three or four types, must find that envelope......

Some alloy rims have recessed sections at this point. Do the Jag ones?
