Hey all, I'm new here. I thought I'd share my daily - my 2006 XC70 2.5T LE.

Purchased in December 2020 for $5250 with only 167,000km on the clock. I'm the fourth owner. After some investigating, I found it had been serviced exclusively at its place of purchase (Doncaster Volvo dealership) until a couple of years ago, where it went through two owners until me. Since then, I've had it looked after by Berry's.

The scope of the project was, "Flip to the back of the brochure in 2006 and choose your accessories". I've had the genuine Volvo lip spoiler fitted, and a set of 17 inch 'Arrakis' rims, which I had restored. Cosmetically, I've had a few dints and scratches removed, polished the headlamps, and restored the exterior plastics. Internally, there were a few broken bits (thanks brutal Aussie sun), which I've also replaced. I also fitted a plastic cargo liner, which I can hose off if my dog leaves muddy paw prints.

Mechanically, it's was at that age where stuff needed doing. It received new discs/pads all round, new front lower control arms, engine fan replaced, alternator/belt/pulley replaced, a new engine mount and new CV boots. Plus, a full service. This is a purity project, with only genuine Volvo parts used throughout.

A big thanks to @iceton1975 for sourcing various bits and pieces, and the team at Berry's for all the work. It drives well and pulls strongly.

Up next: I might investigate a Polestar tune. I was surprised to learn this is available! Before I do that, I'll make sure the engine/turbo are up to scratch. I may also switch out the woodgrain interior trim for aluminium, plus a sport wheel (if I can find one).

i just dropped a 175k 2001 S60 2.4T motor into my 2001 XC70. while looking online i was suprised to see that many S60's for sale in Aus have done around half the milage of the XC70. For thr tune, i got a BSR tune, im happy with it.

Neighbours had a rescue greyhound, amazingly friendly dog use to come over and play with our dog.

I'd say the XC's were probably bought to ferry the kids all around with their stuff, whereas S60's might have been older people with less driving involved. Nice video, pulls well and great to see a manual XC!

        They're great dogs! Love em.

Welcome to the XC70 club. Have you had the transmission flushed? a complete Volvo service history does not include it. Google XC70 transmission problems to see why. Cheers Bob

We’ve got a beautiful spoiled whippet girl Penny - she’s 11 (we rescued her about 6 years ago). Greyhound wouldn’t fit too well in the back of my 1800ES. :) I think we need to start an OzVolvo Pets thread!

Adorable! In her natural habitat there. If it's a tight fit in an XC, it'll be super snug in an 1800ES haha. Yeah could be a good idea :)
