Looking for photos and 240 series examples with this colour in original condition. Only see weathered and faded examples.

Hi Inski,

Another way to get a look at it would be to purchase a can from https://varietypaints.com.au/products/d13971-clr719-wattle-vw-acrylic-touch-up-paint-300-grams

CLR 719 Wattle was a Dulux colour code used on Australian assembled cars in Victoria (if I recall correctly). The cars assembled there included VW, Volvo, and I think also Datsun, probably others as well. The point being, that the cars assembled under this roof often shared the exact same paint codes. This should enable you to get a real proper look at it. As far as I know, the colour was used on VW's around 1972 / 1973.

Good luck with it.

@OldnDecrepit's Viktoria is Wattle, I believe. Pix in his thread.

It's going to be hard to find examples that aren't weathered or faded as it was only used in the 1970s. I took the rear bumper off at one stage and took a picture of the paint hidden from view. You can see how much fading there is. But even this does not tell the full story as I have purchased cans of CLR 719 and the colour is brighter still. I am going to paint the front spoiler at some stage so I will post pictures of that.
