1978 244 part-out

Hey guys,

I bought a 244 from @Inski for a manual conversion. The transmission, exhaust, and A/C system are spoken for, and the engine is seized as the valves have rusted from exposure to the elements. The intake was missing when I bought the car, but the starter appears to be okay. The interior is grey cloth and is good in some places, worse in others. Dash is all there.

Panels are red. Little to no rust, but paintwork has died of exposure.

Let me know what you want and I'll let you know if it's available. There is a set of four steelies and I have a set of mint chrome hubcaps that I will throw in with them.

Items of note:

Flat hood (minor deformations, can pop them out I suspect very easily)
Early-style single square headlight setup. The sealed beams are rooted, but you can get replacements easily enough. The brightwork is in good condition.
Full '78-style narrow chrome trim (the kind with the black rubber line along the middle of it)

They aren't sealed beams.......and those headlights are rare as buggery and well worth refurbing....the lights and brackets and surrounds and grille if all cleaned up and good nick are worth a bit.

@carnut1100 orly? How much do you think? The reflectors are well and truly gone, at least on one side, there is heaps of rust. Maybe it could be re-chromed though.

Well when we needed a new headlight of that type a few years back (someone threw a golf ball at it...) the wrecker wanted $100 for the light.
I heard of someone on TB selling a complete setup (with brackets and grille and surrounds etc)for somethingilike $500 but that was a mint setup.
The buckets can be taken apart and replated as they are metal so it is certainly worth taking it all off and putting aside....even with one rusty light I can't see the conversion kit being worth less than $150.
