I have come to the realization over the last couple of nights that the headlights in my 850 are just not bright enough. I have looked into new bolbs and I am looking at crystal clear Narva bolbs and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas?

There has been a similar discussion before and if you look at Turbobricks and Volvo speed you will see a lot of retrofit HIDs which are the best bet.
The extra output +90 etc do make it better but are not cheap and only comparable to a 100-120 watt bulb anyway ( I have one of each in wife's Camry as I had to do quick replacement one evening and had a driving light with 90/120 I think it is and the light output from the extra +90 light compared to it is similar )
Get a good Philips HID set , the cheapies don't last. ( my bro in-law has a truck spares business and they only sell the Philips ones now as truckies , who are cheap skates realised the cheap ones usually failed at speed on a winding country road with a full load on in the rain....)
Beware the projector replacement headlight housings are overpriced now for some reason and quality is poor as is the lenses and reflectors giving arguably less light output than the old STD ones , maybe modify the existing ones with a retrofit projector kit plus HIDs?

You can get the Philips hid kits on eBay as I did , as I said , more expensive than the poor quality ones.
The kits for projectors eBay as well or for known quality ones you need to search on VS or TB for that in the posts on those forums about retrofits , I don't recall the brands they use.
I am converting V70 ones with Lexus ES300 units , twin projectors! Its a lot of work as I am using the whole mechanism for adjustment , aiming and the wiring socket at the back.
I have seen Audi projector units on eBay you could make fit .

Isn't the easiest route to get the "angel eyes" headlamps which have more appropriate projector lenses in them already?

The angel eyes are way too expensive now and very poor quality lenses . My standard 850 lenses were better.
Do a quality projector retrofit , its not hard at all and get clear glass lenses from ARD or on a Swedish site I saw once. Or , make headlight protectors for as lenses? Seal them on? Could be the go.
Believe me , angel halo eyes are poor effort.
I paid $350 a pair delivered when I had my R , not that cheap now and not worth what I paid ....
