If I were to get a good, clean Auto car for 5,000 ish, would the result of converting the car to manual be just as good as buying a factory manual car? I know the ECU can be reflashed to prevent rev drops between gear changes, but would it be just as nice to drive? Gear shifts and all?

The car itself would have to be a really good starting point for me to consider it OR the donor parts would need to be free/VERY cheap.

I think your right @nickm , When I spoke to his mechanic, he said it wasnt in the best of shape last time he saw it (6-9 months ago)

Sure did, was a shit of a job but worth every bit of it.
TTV lightweight flywheel, Quaife and a whole heap of other nice parts. Absolutely love it
