  • For Sale VIC - 98 to 02 C70 Coupe Rear Spoiler in Saffron - $200 negotiable

PRICE DROP $200 (make me an offer) I am selling the rear spoiler that came on my 1998 Volvo C70 Coupe that I have recently purchased. I don’t believe it is OEM and uncertain on the manufacturer, however it is well made of strong materials and compliments the coupe’s already attractive lines, while adding sporty touch to the otherwise fairly plain rear end. It is easy to install as it attaches to the boot lid using double sided tape/auto adhesive and brackets that loop around either side of the boot lid (see photos). No need to drill holes in the boot lid (which was lucky for me as I have decided to go with a lip style spoiler). Painted in Saffron Pearl Metallic it also comes fitted with a centre brake light that can be wired in if required. Haven’t really found one like it for the C70 so price was a bit of a stab in the dark. Now $200 negotiable. Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Please note: not certain if suitable for the soft top convertible. If roof function is anything like the hardtop C70’s and it’s use of the the boot when raising/lowering the roof than I would say not.

Thanks

James

some photos would help haha. Here we go and there is one of how it looked on the car.

Interesting, looks like Volvo but then again not....

Would it be a Falcon one?

I thought it looked very similar to the Holden Monaro CV8 wing/VX SS. It does look pretty good on the C70 but without a full body kit on the car I have decided on a more conservative boot lip spoiler.

I have a spare red brake light that goes with it as the one attached is cracked.
Has full length wiring harness for brake light connection.
    All mounting brackets are included.

Very interesting. My c70 coupe has this spoiler, but after having a look at the mounting, the shape of the spoiler compared to the boot shape, and the unused brake light wiring, i was sure the c70 coupe never received the spoiler from factory and the spoiler on mine was off a convertible.

I couldn't find a part number on it , I bought it off a club member years ago at Figtree.
I've got a spare brake light for it and did sit it on my 2000 black C70 Coupe , it fitted fine.
Who owns the black C70 coupe that was at today's volvo club of nsw show & shine , it has the factory spoiler.

That black coupe was me 🙂 the brake light wiring has been stuffed into the spoiler and isn't connected at all. The spoiler has been silicone on or something as well.
I originally thought it was oem on the car, given what i understand about the cars history, until i discovered the wiring and the silicone holding it on. also when you open the boot and look under you can see that the moulding on the spoiler is squared off, where the boot shape on the c70 is rounded.
i tried to illustrate the contour of the c70s boot in the below photo in red, and the contour of the spoiler that visible and doesn't line-up in blue.

Bolts on fine, and i havent had the opporunty to investigate the setup on a c70 convertible, so i have no clue if the spoiler actually ever came oem on a c70 coupe. Its entirely possible that it came on the c70 coupe, just the contours never really lined up well.
Definitely fits on the car, just an arguement as to if the coupe ever came with them to factory, I'd love to know if the coupe did.

There's supposed to be a saffron coupe in Melbourne with factory boot spoiler, I did see a photo of it some years ago .
Your welcome to look at the one I have and compare.
Mine has the mounting brackets on the side that clamp to the lip of the boot plus double sided tape
