Hi Greg, I broke the glass in my driver side wing mirror on the weekend (bit too enthusiastic with the car wash brush) it's a 1984 240 Estate, if you do I'd love to get my hands on one... cheers

@carnut222 - wondering if you have any intact rear parcel shelves from any of the 164s?

I am after one from a 164, or failing that, one from a 244.

If so, I can pick 'em up when I do the day trip to pick up the fuel tanks and the HVAC unit.

@Major Ledfoot sorry no parcel shelves. The 164 ones were all rotten and the 240 ones were butchered with speaker holes. I think I turfed them all but will have a look again.

When did the AW70 come in? There is a 1983 auto, but not sure what gearbox it would have.

@carnut222 IIRC it was YM 83 or 84, the GLEs got 'em, and IIRC the 260s got AW71s (no L at that point).

OK, so if I look at it, will the AW70 have the OD button on the gear lever? I think this one does...if so, you’re after the speedometer cable? Anything else that goes along with the cable or just the cable. I’m not sure how easy it will be to get at it as I’ve loaded these cars up with crap...might have to jack it up and get under to access any clamps holding the cable to the underside of the tunnel/floorpan. Lemme know before I get dirty LOL!

^ I was after the transmission itself.... AW70 with speedo drive are quite rare now, and Chloe the 145 would never forgive me if she didn't get it as a replacement for the BW35.

ETA - I'd want the shift lever, the shift rods, and the front tailshaft section, please. Happy to pay for you labour.

OK I’ll investigate and get back to you. Removing a gearbox is a lot more of an issue with these cars as I can’t roll them around due to missing bits, and I don’t plan to remove a gearbox out on the gravel driveway due to safety issues...leave it with me.

Any chance you have the front drivers door window guide trim?

Somehow mine just managed to break into two and now the vertical edge near the door handle is slowly making it's way down intot he door

I assume you mean the rubber U-shaped trim that sits in the door glass channel? Yeah, I probably have one thats not broken...I can have a look.

I might have one of the diagnostic box things...I think I’ve sold all my spare LH2.4 ECUs and AMMs.
