is there an aluminium front bumper in there that would fit a '78?
Thinking of cutting it up to fit fog lights in it and saving an original one.

The only one on this lot of cars is the 1980 245. I think @Roinik might have had a hand up for that - if he still wants it I might have a black GT aluminium bumper. You could sandblast that if you want silver I guess??

Anyone need a blue parcel shelf with seatbelt covers and speakers? Seatbelt covers a bit faded but not chalky...could re-spray in any colour to match your car.

Another convertible in the fleet! Roof cut off this AM and will be going on a guy’s GT to replace the sunroof. He’s got a turbo LS3 V8 in it...interesting!

I think I’ll cut this 91 sedan up so I can liberate the rear axle, fuel tank and front suspension and if in small enough pieces I can throw what’s left in the trailer and take it to the scrap metal pile at the tip. Anyone need any rust-free body cuts off it? I will take the rear end panel off for sure...

Rear glass (with one-piece rubber seal without metal trim) and quarter glass and frames available if anyone’s interested.

Plonk a fwd setup with motor out of some other wreck into it and go nuts! Build a spa in the boot and back seat, drive it where the best view is......or even as a trailer spa!

You are getting a taste for these convertibles! First the red 164 and now this.

Next I would like to see how a wagon would look as an extended open air car. Might need some braces to keep it together!

It wouldn’t take much to remove the roof off the yellow 245 parts car...half the pillars are rusted away.

If it makes it easier for you to extract it, yes please. If not, not really. AFAIK the 'hatch' shape in different from the 142 it's going into.

OK...I’ll see how I go. IIRC when I pulled the HVAC box out of the 93 sedan to go into my 245, I was able to get the box out without pulling the dash plate...there’s a fairly large rubber grommet around the refrigerant lines so it pulls thru OK.

BTW what's the most efficient way you've found to cut up old 240 bodies into easily transportable chunks that would fit into a box trailer or ute tray?

I have one body which needs to be cut up and taken off to Simsmetal.

LOL I’ve not yet cut one up, so I can’t say for sure. I assume easiest thing is to cut straight across the floor in the rear footwell area, then maybe cut straight thru the centre tunnel on the front half...maybe same in rear half and you have 4 pieces? If too heavy keep cutting!

Pulled the complete harness out of this 91 sedan - anyone need bits off it (specific connectors with a length of wire) or the whole lot? The small loom that went to the engine has been cut including the wire to the ignition amplifier as it was pinched in the crumpled front end, as well as tail lamp harness missing, but the rest is 99% complete.

Also have good complete under-carpet and dash sound deadener mats with no heat cracking on the upper layer.

Pair of white 88-93 front guards in good condition. I think somebody was after one?? Also have 4 good 88-93 white doors with no rust. Going cheap! Pick up only!

^ Please set those guards aside for me, in case you don't have a pair of good 81-85s (AFAIK the only difference is the holes for the plastic trim piece).

@Major Ledfoot I need to have a look at the early cars - maybe some with no rust? These 88-93 ones have the side marker light hole, but if you’re happy with that yes, I’ll set them aside. I have the light greeny gold car. @muzz had put his hand up for the passenger front guard off that...I will message him to see if he still wants it - if not that car is an option as well for guards.

@carnut222 - These are going onto an '85, which has the blinker hole covered by a badge from factory, so if you're happy, and muzz is happy, I'm happy.

No worries. I don’t think the white guards are spoken for so they’re yours if you want them. Yeah I guess the only difference on the 85 would be no holes for the lower black trim piece. I forgot about that. When are you coming? I think you should plan to make a day of it - pick-a-part style! ;) BYO semi trailer and take a lot with you PLEASE! :)
