Contact Ash Davies, he is down that way. To get it going again I have one here that should work fne, I would fit a new voltage reg though (as above). Think it is a 55 Amp alternator.
Not sure they are hard to find, Voldat (Melbourne) has a large box of them, Berry's (also Melbourne, though further from you) have several large boxes of them.
You timing is unfortunate though, moments from a 4 day weekend.
