Rear Shock absorbers length

Hi I've been looking for a pair of replacement shocks for my 2008 XC 70 D5. I've tried Bilstine and Sach but the shocks they supplied are 60 mm shorter than the standard Volvo shocks on the car. Has anyone else found this?

2008 is on the changeover from P2 to P3 maybe they have sent you shocks to suit the earlier model? What part number did they send you

what i do, ring volvo and get a price but most important part number, then shop around. Sometimes ive found the dealership cheaper than online shops. I think Munroe make the shocks for volvo, not sure on that. I recently bought shocks from volvo one was made in Germany and the other in Turkey they were very competitive compared to online sellers.

Thanks for responding, The part number I have is 31262151. It appears that the shocks are the same from 2000 through to 2012. I've now had 2 brands send me what they say are correct for the vehicle but they are 472mm extended where mine are branded volvo shocks and are 515mm extended. I just wondered if anyone have come across this before.

2000 - 2012 covers 3 different chassis p80/P2/P3 they all have different suspension setups not possible that the shocks fit all 3.

Bilstein don't seem to list a rear shock for P3 AWD models. Fwd shocks mount in a different spot to the AWD to clear the driveshaft, this is potentially your issue

Thanks for your advice. A lot of the after markets only offer the one shock for all those models. I can only find the one part number at this stage 31262151. It is a bit of a mystery. I've sent a request to a couple of manufacturers with the dimensions to see what they can come up with.
