Guess it does comes back to some basics (fuel or spark) but with a injected car with no codes, it is a bit harder to find the which . It is more than likely is something simple.
Pull the vacuum line on a near cold start as close to the regulator as possible. (no cost or parts)
As Mike said pull the plugs and while you're at it check compression.

actually another idea.
If your car is OBD2 compliant. With a cheap bluetooth dongle
ebay.com.au/itm/Mini-Auto-Car-V1-5-ELM327-OBD2-ODBII-Bluetooth-CAN-BUS-Scanner-Tool-ANDROID-2014-/111421452698?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19f13c719a&_uhb=1 and android "Torque " you can watch and log to see if you are getting odd temp, O2 etc reading this may help track it down.

yes i have one in the mail that will convert a pc into a scan tool
pawright
well i retested while the engine was cold no change in the readings for pressure fluctuates less than 2 psi
still do not know how to post pics
no fuel in the line between air filter and regulator not sure if that's the right one
pulled spark plugs all dry and all black seems to me that the spark is not hot enough there does not seem to much difference between them
is there a simple way to test coil packs ie resistance or something?
nickm
Get a photo bucket account or the like upload to there and link to here.
how is the progress?
pawright
nothing new since the last post

Black could be running rich. Were they all consistently the same colour?
Did you check compression...sticky valve or the like
Coil packs are in pairs on this model so if one is gone 2 pots will not fire.
The hose to pull on the regulator is the thin vacuum line to it. The one with the white tube in the photo above.

so got the compression test done 1,140psi 2, 142psi 3,140psi,4, 140psi
compression test was done after driving for an hour, i noticed that the colour of the pliugs was a light brown not the black of the earlier check
was able to clear the error codes then took it for a short drive and would characterise it as starving not misfire whether that is of spark or fuel i am not sure.
rechecked for error codes and at the moment it is saying no error codes

well it turns out it was a two part problem first the catalytic converter had collapsed and spread debris through the other two mufflers.
once this was fixed we found that the car would idle well but almost died on heavy acceleration.
a quick search on the net indicated that spark plugs could be to blame so new genuine ones were installed and i must say it has been a while since when you hit the accelerator it kickback two gears and accelerated to the speed limit.
thanks everyone for their insights and i hope that this info may also help others that are struggling to get the right info.
most mechanics wanted to install new coil packs which seem to be working fine hopefully their will be no more problems as we do further testing

win! :)

actually I'm surprised it did not throw the cat code.
pawright
that's what can make diagnosing difficult at times they don't always give you useful codes
