So I successfully changed the column over the weekend. It was actually straight forward and not too complex. @timbo my column looks a bit different to the picture you sent. The locking bolt on mine was under the rubber boot. You have to take out the wire lock mechanism, pull out the boot to access the 12mm bolt.
Noise on the column is now gone and the steering feels very nice and smooth :)
Next is replacing the engine mounts with OEM. Not sure how I will get to the one near the firewall though without a hoist. Might have to take it to a mechanic's shop to change this one..unless anyone here has an idea on how to get to it?
